About The Department
The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1995 with the introduction of Under Graduate (UG) Program with intake of 120 students. The department of ECE is focused in providing all types of facilities and infrastructures needed to empower the candidates. The department has fully equipped laboratories and electronics workshop to impart practical knowledge to the students. The competent, dedicated and experienced faculties and technical assistants are working hard to impart quality education to the students. The department provides understanding of basic Electronics and Communication concepts along with contemporary skills required by industry and courses that form a basis for professional competence and required knowledge of latest technology in the field of Electronics and Communication.
The department has excellent facilities in the core and emerging areas of Electronics and Communication like Embedded systems, VLSI Design, Optical Communication, Wireless Communication, Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processing etc. The department has always strived to inculcate the very best in students so that they can face the challenges offered to them by the industry. While building a solid foundation of the fundamentals, the students are also exposed to emerging trends in the industry and are molded to be quality professionals of the future.The preeminence of the department can be understood by the ever increasing demand of its fresh graduates. Close interaction with the industry has led to evolution of a teaching system, which produces diligent and erudite engineers.
Hard working students, faculty and technical supporting staff are the distinctive characteristics of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The young engineers have excelled both in higher education and in industry.
The Civil Engineering department aims to produce graduate engineers equipped for careers in the public and private sector encompassing areas such as structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water resources, transportation, environmental and construction industries.

Electronics & Communication Engineering Laboratory
The laboratories in department of Electronics and Communication Engineering are intended to give practical experience to the students. Laboratories are useful for students to implement the theory in practical aspects and helps student to apply their knowledge of theory for various courses of their course outcomes.
This lab mainly focuses on semiconductor device physics. The students get familiarized with the analysis and design of circuits by using semiconductor devices like diodes, transistors, FETs, SCRs, and UJTs.
In the Analog Electronics Laboratory, the students can create their own electrical circuits and do measurements on it. In the circuits students can use Semiconductor devices like Diode, Transistor, FET, MOSFET, resistors, capacitors etc. The circuits can be powered by an AC/DC power supply. The Lab is equipped with the state of the art measuring equipments like Digital Function Generator, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, etc.
The Digital Electronics Laboratory is well equipped with Multiple Training boards including Logic Gates, Counters, Shift Registers, Flip-flops etc, Memory Programmer kits along with supported equipment’s like Digital Oscilloscope, various measuring instruments.
This laboratory provides all hardware and software required to learn the assembly language programming systematically for the different applications of microprocessor and microcontrollers by using hardware and software environment. The microprocessor lab helps the students to gain a better understanding of 8085 and 8086 microprocessors. Students are able to execute basic assembly language programs as well as interface ADC, DAC and stepper motor through various interface cards available in the lab.
This laboratory provides all hardware and software required to design and simulation of analog and digital communications with the applications using MATLAB software. This laboratory provides a platform to the students to understand the basics of analog and digital communication systems, modulation techniques, data transmission, multiplexing.
The Solid State Device Laboratory is to understand the basic working principle of electronic devices. Moreover students can learn the operation and applications of electronic circuits and devices like FET, Transistor, SCR, DIAC, TRIAC etc. The major includes development of semi-conductor materials, solid state devices, electronic components/sub-systems and investigation of solid state materials/devices.
This laboratory provides all hardware and software required to design and simulation of antennas and high frequency applications. The laboratory is designed to get the exposure to various microwave components, microwave benches in this lab. This laboratory helps the students understand the basics of Microwave engineering and gives a detailed description of the working principle of microwave components.
The Electrical Circuits Laboratory assists the students to impart with essential knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit design and analysis and provide hands on experience to design different electrical and electronic circuits with bread boards and with different active and passive components. This Lab gives the practical learning and use of various instruments like Multi-meter, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Wattmeter’s etc. Along with this, they do practical verification of various electrical theorems.
This Laboratory is conducted to analyze discrete signals and systems by simulation using MATLAB. This lab is well equipped with Computers with Internet Facility to introduce discrete-time systems and discrete-time signal processing with an emphasis on causal systems, discrete-time linear systems, difference equations, z-transforms. This laboratory provides all hardware and software required is used to design audio signal, speech processing, voice recognition, and analysis of analog and digital signals by using MATLAB software. The Digital Signal Processing Lab is based on MATLAB tools which are used to evaluate the effectiveness of Fast Fourier Transform algorithms in Discrete Fourier Transform implementation. We can also do the analysis of digital filter design of Finite Impulse Response and Infinite Impulse Response filters.
This lab is designed to review the fundamentals and application of electromagnetic field theory. To introduce the concepts of different coordinate systems, Maxwell`s equations, static electric and magnetic fields and methods of solving for the quantities associated with these fields, time varying fields and displacement current, propagation of electromagnetic waves and their applications in practical problems.
The electronics workshop is involved in the design an electronics circuits with different electrical and electronics components. This workshop is designed to provide hand-on experience in PCB Circuit design and to familiarize with PCB Fabrication process. To provide hands on experience in assembly and Testing of electronics circuit.
